Join Showersave at Explore Offsite Housing on 10th-11th April
The Explore Offsite Housing conference and supporting exhibition is taking place on 10 & 11 April 2018. The nation’s media has been reporting on a UK housing crisis for many months, but is there now a climate for change in the industry? Experts have hailed offsite construction as the only way to respond to the demand for new housing. Moving the construction of houses into factories enables the build to take place both efficiently and economically, making the national shortage of labour less of a concern. For those in the construction sector with fresh ideas and innovative technologies, this nationwide crisis has the potential to change the norm which governs the ways new homes are built.
Explore Offsite Housing will be taking place on 10 & 11 2018. To view the full conference line-up, visit: http://www.exploreoffsite.co.uk/2018-events/explore-offsite-housing/conference-speakers/ Tickets cost just £225 + vat for a two-day ticket and £125 + vat for a one ticket. Join us at Social Housing Conference, Manchester, 25th January 2018
Social Housing Conference: Fixing the broken market
Showersave will join a panel of experts at the Social Housing Conference where experts from across the sector will explain how the UK can deliver affordable housing to meet growing demand.
“In those parts of the country where the need is greatest, [we will] allow homes to be built for social rent, well below market level. Getting government back into the business of building houses, a new generation of council houses to help fix our broken housing market.” – Prime Minister Theresa May
Britain is building 60,000 too few houses a year, creating an affordability crisis that has had a disproportionate impact on younger people.
Just 6,800 new homes are built for social rent each year while the number of new affordable homes has been halved. In response, the Government has published a white paper on “Fixing our broken housing market” and set aside £9 billion for its Affordable Homes Programme. Local authorities in areas with the greatest shortages have been encouraged to bid for money to build new homes for social rent.
In the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, social landlords are under increased scrutiny and must ensure their properties meet the highest standards. At a time when resources are scarce, landlords face a difficult financial choice between maintaining existing housing stock and delivering the new affordable homes the UK needs. Find out more here.

BPD Ltd, distributors of Showersave join the SEA
Showersave is distributed throughout the UK & Ireland by BPD Ltd. BPD develops practical energy saving solutions that are designed to help people and businesses, throughout the UK, to reduce both their CO2 emissions and energy costs.
Showersave is based on the principle of simple, affordable application of tried and tested technology. The passive systems recover the energy otherwise thrown down the drain when showering. Recognised by BRE in SAP, the system is extremely effective in SAP and allows developers to meet their Building Regulation challenges at the lowest possible cost; with no after sales costs at all.
With 55,000 systems installed across Europe and in use with the majority of housing developers in UK the system has a very important role to play in the creation of UK’s sustainable homes of the future.
Showersave continues to go from strength to strength simply because it is a product that offers enormous tangible benefits to the developer and householder.
Tony Gordon, MD of BPD Ltd:
“We are very pleased to join the Sustainable Energy Association, an organisation which is committed to reducing carbon emissions and customers’ bills. SFHA - Energy Exchange - Glasgow - 20th April

Meet us at Explore Offsite - London - 4th & 5th April
This major event at City Road, London is aimed at the housing sector and will bring together technology leaders to discuss the growing opportunities that the housing shortage presents for offsite construction solutions. The nation’s media has been reporting on a UK housing crisis for many months, but is there now a climate for change in the industry?
For those in the construction sector with fresh ideas and innovative technologies, this nationwide crisis has the potential to change the norm which governs the ways new homes are built.
Experts hailed offsite construction as the only way to respond to the demand for new housing. Moving the construction of houses into factories enables the build to take place both efficiently and economically, making the national shortage of labour less of a concern.
Conference delegates will have the opportunity to see Showersave demonstration units and learn about the many benefits this wonderfully simple system can offer to offsite projects.

UK Housing Associations urged to recognise the benefits of Waste water heat recovery
As the UK continues to deal with housing shortages, fuel poverty and the unenviable task of ensuring old housing stock is brought up to “decent homes” standard, one UK company who specialises in energy–efficient technology claims that Housing Associations in the UK are missing out on the opportunity to make new and existing homes more energy efficient.
Showersave Waste water heat recovery is recognised by BRE in SAP and is one of the most cost effective means of achieving Part L Building Regulations compliance in the UK. Although recognised by Government standards, many housing associations continue to overlook the long term benefits of this wonderfully simple system.
Waste water heat recovery (WWHR) is a simple, proven, yet highly effective technology, which extracts heat from waste water used during showering and reuses this heat to reduce overall energy use for the homeowner.
Showersave Director, Tony Gordon explains that “Showersave can be installed as part of a bathroom refurbishment or new build. We have worked with some of the UK’s leading sustainability consultants, regeneration specialists and private developers who are thrilled with the benefits of our system. However, we struggle to get the message across to Housing Associations, whose tenants could enjoy incredible financial benefits from what is effectively a very clever copper pipe. You can see for yourself from our installation video how straightforward it is. Moreover, Showersave is simple, requires no maintenance and will last the life of the property, why wouldn’t you install when refurbishing bathrooms and/or heating systems?.”
Following a recent rebrand, Showersave is determined to remove any misconceptions that WWHR is a complicated product. The company rebrand reflects Showersave’s sustainable development and vision for the future. It delivers to the market a fresh, uncomplicated message that this system is for anyone.
